Steiff's 1912 Replica Teddy Bear was made possible by a chance find! An English collector bought an auction lot of mixed bears and dolls - finding an unmarked black bear, she did some research and confirmed he was an original 1912 Steiff teddy!
1912 Replica Teddy Bear has a beautiful coat of smooth black mohair, with contrasting pale paw pads and stitched brown claws. He's fully jointed and stuffed with traditional wood shavings, and a growler voice box. He bears the patinated steel Steiff button in ear, with the black and white label reserved for replica bears. He comes in a Steiff box with numbered certificate of authenticity.
