CHARLIE BEARS MILO - FROM THE QUEEN'S BEASTS SERIES
Size: 23" (58CM)
When Her Majesty the Queen of England was crowned in 1953, the entrance to Westminster Abbey was guarded by ten fantastical creatures, in the form of heraldic statues that were 6ft high and weighed 50 stones each!
Each beast supports a shield bearing a badge or arms of a family associated with the ancestory of Queen Elizabeth II. After the coronation, they were moved to the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec. Charlie Bears have designed a stunning series to commemorate this and it is called THE QUEEN'S BEASTS SERIES.
The first 4 beasts were launched in the Collection and they have now created 4 more in the 2020 Collection.
Milo is a Numbered Limited Edition of 2000
Milo represents the White Greyhound of Richmond, which was a badge of John of Grant, Earl of Richmond, son of Edward III. It was also used by Henry IV and especially by Henry VII. The Greyhound was the most favoured canine breed in Northern England and the Queen's Beasts one wore a red and gold edged collar.
Milo, the Charlie Bears greyhound has soft grey and white fur, with a white muzzle that shows off his dark grey hand-stitched nose and mouth and black, sparkly eyes. The sculpted and stitched paw pads are dark grey and his big perky ears are wired, for poseability. His legs are bent at the knee, so he will look great sat on the edge of a shelf, chair, or your lap. He has a waggy tail and wears a red and gold edged collar - just like the Queen's Beasts one.
This lanky and gorgeous greyhound loves being played with and he will soon speed his way into your affections and have you running around for more fun and cuddles!
OTHERS IN THIS NEW COLLECTION ARE: GRIFF, KEYS and PEREGRINE.
Milo is from the Charlie Bears 2020 Collection.
